ABOUT
“How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying” is a satirical musical that follows the ambitious J. Pierrepont Finch, a young window washer who dreams of climbing the corporate ladder. With the help of a book titled How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Finch joins the World Wide Wicket Company and rapidly ascends from the mail room to the boardroom through a series of humorous, yet ethically questionable tactics. Along the way, he charms his colleagues, dodges the pitfalls set by jealous rivals, and navigates the complexities of office politics.
Amidst his rise, Finch encounters Rosemary Pilkington, a secretary who dreams of a traditional romantic life. While initially indifferent to her, Finch eventually falls for Rosemary, realizing that there’s more to life than his ruthless pursuit of success. The musical pokes fun at the cutthroat corporate culture of the 1960s, showcasing the absurdities of business practices and office dynamics through witty songs and clever dialogues. As Finch’s schemes build to a climax, he must face the consequences of his actions and decide what truly matters in his life.
