The Lightning Thief: Theatre for Young Audiences Edition

ABOUT

The Lightning Thief: Theatre for Young Audiences Edition follows Percy Jackson, a 12-year-old boy who discovers he is a demigod, the son of Poseidon. Struggling with ADHD and dyslexia, Percy feels out of place until he is taken to Camp Half-Blood, a sanctuary and training ground for demigod children. There, he learns of his divine heritage and is accused of stealing Zeus’ master lightning bolt. Given ten days to return the bolt and prevent a war among the gods, Percy sets out on a quest with his friends Annabeth, daughter of Athena, and Grover, a satyr. They face numerous mythological challenges and adversaries as they travel across the United States, from New York to the Underworld in Los Angeles.

Throughout their journey, Percy and his friends confront various mythical creatures, such as Medusa and the Minotaur, and even clash with Ares, the god of war. Along the way, they uncover truths about themselves and their destinies. Ultimately, Percy discovers that Luke, a fellow camper and the son of Hermes, is the real thief plotting to overthrow the Olympian gods. Percy’s courage and determination help him thwart Luke’s plans, proving his worth and solidifying his place in the world of gods and monsters.
