Operation Mincemeat: Expanded Cast

TRACKS VS. CAST RECORDING

These tracks faithfully reflect the official Broadway/West End score and orchestration, featuring two keyboards, bass, and drums. The cast recording expands on this core orchestration with additional instrumentation, creating a distinctive, fuller sound.  Therefore, these tracks do not replicate the expanded orchestration heard on the cast recording.

ABOUT

Operation Mincemeat: The Expanded Cast tells the astonishing true story of the British intelligence operation that attempted to deceive Hitler and the Nazis about the Allies’ invasion plans. As Britain struggles to turn the tide of World War II, intelligence officers Ewen Montagu and Charles Cholmondeley develop an audacious scheme involving a stolen corpse, forged documents, and an entirely fictional identity. With help from MI5 agents, military officials, secretaries, and an eclectic cast of characters, the team must make their elaborate deception convincing enough to fool German intelligence—and ultimately help protect the Allied invasion of Sicily.

Based on the Broadway and West End hit, Operation Mincemeat: The Expanded Cast combines wartime espionage with irreverent comedy, inventive theatricality, friendship, and romance. The story follows the eccentric personalities behind the mission as they navigate enormous pressure, personal conflicts, and the increasingly absurd details required to make their fictional story believable. Designed for a minimum of 13 actors but expandable to as many as 87 characters, the production makes extensive use of doubling and ensemble performance, allowing actors to transform into MI5 agents, submariners, Londoners, spies, Nazis, dancers, and other characters throughout the show. The result is a high-energy musical comedy about an improbable mission in which a well-dressed corpse becomes one of the Allies’ most unlikely weapons.
