ABOUT
Big Fish is a whimsical and heartfelt story about Edward Bloom, a man known for telling wildly imaginative tales about his life. As he nears the end of his life, his estranged son Will returns home, hoping to separate fact from fiction. Edward’s stories—filled with giants, witches, and circus adventures—have always frustrated Will, who wants to understand the real man behind the myths. As Will dives deeper into his father’s fantastical past, he begins to see the truth behind the tall tales and comes to appreciate the beauty and meaning behind Edward’s storytelling.
The story explores themes of memory, identity, and the bonds between parents and children. Through a blend of fantasy and reality, Big Fish shows how stories shape our lives and legacies, even if they aren’t entirely factual. In the end, Will finds peace with his father, realizing that Edward’s stories were not lies but a way to make sense of the world and leave behind a lasting legacy full of wonder and heart.
