Bright Star tells a sweeping tale of love and redemption. The show takes place against the rich backdrop of the American South in the 1920s and ’40s. Alice Murphy, an editor, meets Billy Cane. He is an aspiring writer who just returned from World War II. Because of their relationship, Alice longs to find a child she was forced to give up for adoption in her youth. She sets out on a journey to understand her past – and what she finds has the power to transform both of their lives.
Inspired by real events, this show features the Grammy-nominated score by Steven Martin and Edie Brickwell. An uplifting theatrical journey that holds you tight in its grasp, Bright Star is as refreshingly genuine as it is daringly hopeful.
