ABOUT
“Camp Rock” is a vibrant musical that follows the story of Mitchie Torres, a talented teenage girl with dreams of becoming a singer. Mitchie wants to spend her summer at Camp Rock, a prestigious rock camp that has nurtured some of the biggest names in music, but her family can’t afford the tuition. Her mother, a caterer, finds a way for them to go by offering to cater food for the camp, allowing Mitchie to attend only if she helps in the kitchen. Desperate to fit in with the affluent campers, Mitchie fabricates a story about her background, which leads to complications as she tries to navigate new friendships and her own identity amidst the camp’s competitive atmosphere.
The plot thickens when teen pop star Shane Gray arrives at Camp Rock to repair his tarnished image. Assigned to coach aspiring musicians, Shane is jaded and uninterested until he hears Mitchie singing, although he does not see her face. Captivated by her voice, Shane sets out on a quest to find the girl behind the beautiful voice as he undergoes his own journey of self-discovery and redemption. Throughout the summer, Mitchie must learn to be true to herself and confront the lies she’s told, all while participating in the ultimate showdown performance that could launch her dream career or crash everything she’s built at Camp Rock.
