Happy Days – A New Musical (90 Minute Version)

ABOUT

Happy Days: A New Musical is a stage adaptation of the classic 1970s TV sitcom Happy Days, created by Garry Marshall with music and lyrics by Paul Williams. Set in 1959 Milwaukee, the musical follows the beloved characters from the original show, including Richie Cunningham, Fonzie, and the rest of the gang, as they rally to save Arnold’s Drive-In from being demolished. Featuring upbeat rock-and-roll numbers and nostalgic humor, the show captures the spirit of the era while celebrating friendship, community, and teenage rebellion. The musical originally premiered in 2007 and has since been performed in various regional and community theaters.

With a storyline that revolves around a dance contest and a wrestling match to raise money for Arnold’s, Happy Days: A New Musical blends comedy, romance, and toe-tapping tunes. Fonzie, the iconic leather-jacket-wearing cool guy, faces personal challenges as he reconnects with an old flame and proves he’s still the king of cool. The musical’s score includes original songs that pay homage to the era’s classic rock sound, and its energetic choreography and lighthearted charm make it an entertaining tribute to the beloved TV series.
