Little Shop of Horrors (Original Off-Broadway Version 1982)

ABOUT

“Little Shop of Horrors” tells the darkly comedic story of Seymour Krelborn, a meek and downtrodden floral assistant at Mushnik’s Skid Row Florists. Seymour discovers a mysterious plant during a total eclipse, which he names Audrey II after his co-worker and crush, Audrey. However, Seymour soon learns that Audrey II thrives on human blood and begins to demand more and more to grow. As the plant’s appetite grows, Seymour finds himself drawn deeper into a Faustian bargain, balancing his desire for success and love with the increasingly sinister demands of Audrey II.

Set against the backdrop of a rundown urban neighborhood, “Little Shop of Horrors” is a blend of dark humor, catchy tunes, and memorable characters. With its iconic plant puppetry and catchy musical numbers, the show explores themes of ambition, morality, and the corrupting influence of power. As Seymour grapples with the consequences of his actions, audiences are taken on a twisted journey filled with laughs, thrills, and a few unexpected twists.
