ABOUT
Anne & Gilbert is a musical sequel to Anne of Green Gables, based on the later books in L.M. Montgomery’s beloved series, primarily Anne of Avonlea and Anne of the Island. The story follows Anne Shirley as she navigates adulthood, pursuing her teaching career and university studies while wrestling with her evolving feelings for Gilbert Blythe. Despite their undeniable chemistry, Anne initially refuses to acknowledge her love for Gilbert, clinging to romanticized notions of love and struggling with past heartaches. Meanwhile, Gilbert remains steadfast in his affections, waiting for Anne to realize they are meant to be together.
