ABOUT
String is a modern musical by Adam Gwon and Sarah Hammond that blends mythology with contemporary themes of love, destiny, and free will. The story centers on the Fates, the Greek mythological figures who control the threads of life. After an incident in the mortal world, Atropos, the Fate responsible for cutting the threads, is punished and banished to a mundane office building. There, she is forced to live among humans, confronting the unpredictable messiness of their lives and relationships. Her world becomes even more complicated when she meets a mortal man, who challenges her sense of duty and the rigid rules she has always followed.
With its rich emotional core and clever integration of mythological elements, String explores the tension between control and chaos, order and spontaneity. The show is brought to life by Adam Gwon’s melodic and heartfelt score and Sarah Hammond’s witty, poignant book and lyrics.
