ABOUT
String is a modern musical by Adam Gwon and Sarah Hammond that blends Greek mythology with contemporary themes of love, destiny, and free will. In this expanded large cast edition, the story follows the three Fates—ancient sisters who control the threads of life. When Atropos, the Fate who cuts the threads, breaks protocol during a visit to the mortal world, she is exiled to a corporate office building and forced to live among humans. As she adjusts to the messiness of mortal existence, Atropos meets a wide cast of coworkers and a mortal man who challenges her beliefs about control, order, and the rules she has always followed.
With a larger ensemble enriching the world of the play, String delves deeper into the shared human experiences of vulnerability, connection, and the desire for meaning. Adam Gwon’s melodic and emotionally charged score pairs seamlessly with Sarah Hammond’s witty and poignant book and lyrics to create a musical that is both entertaining and profound.
